Our 2013 Online Slot Predictions

December 26, 2012

With 2012 drawing to a close very soon, we thought it might be fun to make a few predictions of things we think we will see happening in the video slot market in 2013.

Our first prediction is that online slots, and online gambling in general, will become much more widely accessible in countries that currently class online gambling as illegal. We specifically think that the USA online gambling market will open up significantly. Nevada has already made online gambling legal and licensed certain online casino site and other online gambling companies. New Jersey began making a similar move just last week. We think that this trend will spread across the rest of the USA next year. We also think that Canada will follow the example of the USA and open up the local Canadian online gambling market considerably.

Our next prediction concerns progressive jackpots. We didn’t see that many massive progressive wins this year, but we saw some new online slots in the progressive lists. We think that The Dark Knight, Microgaming’s current blockbuster video slot game, will pay out something special in 2013.

We also predict that mobile slots will be the focus for next year’s online slot fans. With all of the major slots developers such as Microgaming, Net Entertainment, Amaya Gaming and Playtech all developing feature rich mobile slot versions of their top video slot games, we see this as a definite happening. Many people now have access to a smartphone or some other form of mobile computing device, and we think that mobile casinos will be big nosiness next year.

Our final prediction has to do with some new technology we think we will definitely see hit pay to play online casino sites in 2013. Zynga, the Facebook social gaming developer is about to enter the online gambling market. We think that once it becomes apparent that Zynga’s style of social enabled online slots are popular that other online casino operators will become more socially focused as well.

These are our main predictions for 2013. We would like to take the opportunity right now to thank our readers and visitors for using the site in the last year, and we hope you all had a great Christmas. We wish you a very happy New Year and look forward to providing you with the top slots news and info in 2013.
