100k New Online Gambling Accounts Opened in New Jersey

Today’s news is like that, something that at a roots level, could shake the online gambling industry to its roots in coming months. We are of course, speaking about the ongoing move to legalize online gambling in several states of America, and the possibility that this trend will snowball to become nationwide.

The Division of Gaming Enforcement has just released some amazing statistics that show over 100k new online casino account shave been opened by local residents of New Jersey since online gambling was made legal within the state. Of this 100k accounts, almost 20k of them were opened in the last seven days.

David Rebuck, who is the Director of the Division of Gaming Enforcement, has said that, “We have seen a steady and continual increase in site traffic since Nov. 21 due to the outreach of the casino operators. We are encouraged by their marketing efforts and are optimistic for the future of New Jersey’s internet gaming industry."

Of course, we expect this kind of statement from a representative of the Division of Gaming Enforcement in New Jersey, as this is the USA state that is setting the trend for a progressive, much more open stance towards online casino providers operating legally within the USA.

It was only on the 21st of November that several online casino operators were given the go ahead to open their online gambling sites, as a short test of the proposed new system. This was followed by a full launch of legal online gambling in New Jersey less than a week later. So we are only really less than a month in to live, legal online gambling in the state of New Jersey and we already see more that 100k new online casino accounts have been created by local people. If ever proof was needed that this was a good move, then this is it, and let’s hope the trend spreads to other states in the USA in the next year.
