Amaya and Aristocrat Team Up

January 26, 2012

Up and coming online gambling operator Aristocrat Leisure Limited has signed a lucrative contract with both OpenBet, a major online sporstbook provider and Amaya, who develop and manage a subsidiary named Chartwell Technology who produce online slots and other online gambling games.

By signing this deal, Aristocrat is acquiring a full readymade portfolio which includes online slots, bingo, online poker and other online casino game and a full online sportsbook. Pretty much an off the shelf online casino, developed by two industry heavyweights, Amaya and OpenBet.

Amaya, and their subsidiary Chartwell Technology, although lagging behind Playtech, Net Entertainment and Microgaming in terms of the sheer number of online slots and other online gambling games it makes available via its platform, does provide a significant amount of quality. In reality, we would tip Amaya as becoming a much more widely used option for new online casino startups in the coming year, especially for new online casinos wishing to deploy something little different than the standard portfolio of games usually licensed from one of the big three platform providers.

It would appear this is exactly the same thought which the decision makers at Aristocrat had, and the by signing a three year contract with Chartwell technology, via Amaya, has gained access to some of what are sure to be the hottest games of 2012. On top of this, Amaya will also begin converting many of Aristocrat’s popular casino slots to the online format, great news for online slots fans everywhere.

OpenBet and its subsidiary Electracade, bring even more to the table, as they provide not only online gambling games but a full online sportsbook system.

One thing that we don’t quite understand is the overlap. Both the OpenBet and the Amaya gaming platforms provide similar kinds of games. It does seem that Aristocrat are leaning more towards Amaya for the online slots and other casino games, and towards OpenBet for the sportsbook platform. Until more details are announced regarding the actual contracts signed between all parties, we will not be able to discover just what each of the parties has been contracted to deliver. We will report on this when we find out though.

Overall, this is a very cool thing to happen to the often stagnant online casino market. When a major player such as Aristocrat decides to move away from the tried and tested online casino development methods we have seen emerge in recent years, we can only hope the result will be something special.
