Delaware Online Gambling

March 25, 2013

We recently reported on the first ever USA online gambling license being grated to 888 online casino, by the Nevada Gaming Control Board. The State of Delaware looks like following this example, and has so far accepted 14 applications form companies to provide online gambling services as a third party, and also from online casino operators.

The most interesting application is the one from PokerStars. If readers cast their mind back to around this time last year, they will remember that it was at this time that major online poker sites like PokerStars were forced out of the U.S.A. So no surprise here that PokerStars is amongst one of the first applicants for an online gambling license in Delaware.

However, some other major players in the online casino market have also applied for an online gambling license in Delaware, and these include 888 online casino (which has just been granted its license in Nevada), Amaya Gaming and International Game Technology (IGT). We are pretty sure that the three online casino service providers we have mentioned here will be granted a license; they are some of the largest online gambling companies in the world.

It is unsure just when the State of Delaware will begin handing our these new online gambling licenses, but if the State of Nevada is anything to go by, it took the Nevada Gaming Control Board several months to actually process the applications, and as mentioned above, it has only just granted the very first of these licenses (to 888 online casino). So we do not expect to hear of any Delaware online gambling license being issued on the short term, more than likely it will be around three to six months before we hear of anything.

However, this is all very good news for us online gambling fans who have been waiting to play at a legal online casino site in the U.S.A for what seems like forever. It is now only a matter of time before we have a range of online casino sites to choose from, that should all be completely legal to play at, as long as we reside in the state that has issued the original online gambling license.
