Gamesys Launch on Facebook

Back in January we stated that we believed that due to certain technologies we saw emerging, and certain deals, mergers and acquisitions which were taking place, that we believed that Facebook would soon become a vehicle for for full blown pay to play online casino sites. We can now gloat a little, as we have just heard that Gamesys UK has now released two online casino applications on the Facebook platform. Bingo Friendzy is an online bingo casino, and Slots Friendzy is a video slots casino. Both applications are operated by Gamesys UK, and both are only accessible to UK based Facebook users.

Julien Codornious, in justification of the Facebook decision to allow online casinos on the site, speaking on behalf of facebook has stated that, “People love playing new types of games with their friends on Facebook and real money gaming is a popular leisure activity in the UK. We’re delighted to be working with Gamesys to enable them to offer their games on Facebook so that people can enjoy playing more games with their friends.” Gamesys has stated that the new online slots Facebook app, Slots Friendzy and the Bingo Friendzy bongo app are both set up to disallow Facebook users under the age of 18 from playing, and to also filter out other types of vulnerable Facebook users.

We are not entirely sure that this move into play to play video slots hosted within the Facebook site, sure, Slots Friendzy is a pretty cool application, but we foresee Facebook becoming flooded with online casinos should this work out for Gamesys UK.

So, our prediction of a full blown online casino operating within Facebook earlier in the year has proven true. So what do we predict next? Well, we are pretty sure we will see Zynga start to deploy a full online casino site, replacing the free to play video slots they currently offer, so watch this space!
