Mirrorball Slots Launched

March 27, 2012

There is a certain type of online slots player who simply likes to play for fun. Traditionally these casual players would deposit a small amount with an online casino and play online slots at minimum bet. However, this particular customer demographic has begun to drift away from online casinos and begin playing social gaming versions of online slots.

Take a look at the long list of Facebook games which are based upon online slots. Some of these have millions of players. If even a small percentage of these players once used to play at an online casino, then we can safely say that social gaming has had a negative effect on the online casino market.

We are sure this trend will continue as more social gaming companies deploy online slots style games. One such new launch is Mirrorball Slots, by Plumbee Gaming. Costing over $2.8 billion to develop, Mirrorball is set to become a major player in the social slots arena.

The interesting thing about this new launch is that the developer, Plumbee Gaming, has partnered with the German casino games developer Quickspin AB. Both of these companies have experience in the online gambling industry. Now it does not take much to imagine that a $2.8 billion investment in social gaming technology, in particularly online slots, leaves Plumbee with a product which could very easily make the move over to a pure pay to play online slots platform. Let’s look at it from a different viewpoint. Plumbee Gaming have invested $2.8 billion in developing a socially enable online slots platform. This investment was funded by venture capitalists. The financial backers are going to want the best return on their investment, in the shortest time possible. Is Plumbee really going to please them by sticking to a free to play business model? It simply makes common sense for Plumbee to shift into a more traditional online gambling environment.

We are actually pretty sure that we will be back in a few months, reporting on the launch of a new online casino, run by Plumbee Gaming, and using the technology developed to launch Mirrorball Slots as its gaming platform.
