Old King Cole is a newly launched slot by Microgaming. Old King Cole is the next installment in the series of slots known as Rhyming Reels. This is a themed online slot, with the reason stated for its development as Microgaming wishing to make an online slot available which adds extra wild symbols to the free spin feature. In fact, free spins make up much of the gameplay with the Old King Cole slot. Graphically this new Microgaming online slot is pretty impressive, and as we would expect from a game based upon a famous nursery rhyme, the soundtrack is excellent.

As we mentioned above, Old King Cole is one of the series of slots which Microgaming have named Rhyming Reels. All of the Rhyming Reels online slots, including Old King Cole are based on a well-known nursery rhyme, and use the story of the children’s song to derive the reel symbols, soundtrack and the gameplay features. So we obviously see Old King Cole himself on the reels, and he does indeed look to be a merry old soul. His fiddlers make a showing, as well as for some reason, a shisha, this is probably derived from the “He called for his pipe” line in the nursery rhyme.

Old King Cole by Microgaming is a 5 reel, 20 pay line online slot, with a maximum number of coins per win line being 10, so this makes for a max wager of 200 coins. There is no progressive jackpot; the standard jackpot pays a maximum of 25,000 coins, or 175,000 coins when the free spin 7x multiplier is in effect.

Wild Symbol:

The wild symbol is the Old king Cole online slot logo. These work in the traditional manner, by replacing normal reel symbols to make up a win line combination. However, during free spin play a new wild symbol is added to the game, which for some reason is depicted by a compact disc. This means extra wild symbols during free spins.

Scatter Symbol:

The scatter symbol is the kings’ crown. By spinning in 3, 4 or 5 of these scatter symbols the free spin round is triggered. This is a set number of 12 free spins, with a variable multiplier (depending upon the number of scatter symbols spun in) of up to 7x.
