Untamed - Wolf Pack Slot Full Review

Untamed Wolf Pack is likely to be an instant hit for Microgaming, just as both Untamed Bengal Tiger and Untamed Giant Panda were upon release. This new online slot is set in a Canadian wilderness theme, and you guessed it, wolves are the focus of the theme. Just like the previous two Untamed slots, Wolf Pack is a 4 reel video slot, but with a fixed 243 ways to win, and doing away with the traditional idea of a pay line entirely. It also comes equipped with the standard features found on the Untamed series which includes the Collect-a-Wild. Your Gamble and Lucky Nudge features. However, Untamed Wolf Pack adds to the stable by introducing a brand new gameplay feature, namely the Running Wilds feature. We have to say that Microgaming have been really clever with both naming this feature, and including it in a wild wolf themed video slot, most clever. Untamed Wolf Pack also features a wild symbol, scatter symbol and a free spins bonus feature.

Wild Symbol:

Untamed Wolf Pack includes a standard wild symbol; it also has a special wild feature, Running Wilds. When the free spins feature triggers, every time a wild symbol spins in, a counter is incremented. When this counter reaches 4, the Running Wilds feature triggers and an entire reel is turned wild. This can and does lead to some pretty amazing wins by the end of the bonus feature.

Scatter Symbol:

Nothing special in the scatter symbol department when it comes to Untamed Wolf Pack. The scatter symbol works in exactly the same way as we expect a traditional scatter symbol to, acting as the free spin trigger device, and also paying out a double wager win every time just 2 scatter symbols appear on the reels. Nothing special, but nice to have, especially as that double wager win is likely to spin in quite often.

Free Spins:

The free spins feature is triggered by 3 or more scatter symbols appearing anywhere on the reels. This is a very straightforward free spin feature, as it offers a flat number of 10 free spins, and there is no multiplier added. However, is the enabler of the Running Wilds feature, so as it may not be an exceptional feature in its own right, it is very useful indeed.

Bonus Round:

There is no bonus feature included in Untamed Wolf Pack per se. However, it does offer the afore mentioned Running Wilds, Collect-a-Wild, Lucky Nudge and Your Gamble features, which although not the standard type of side game bonus feature we are used to seeing, could be considered to be bonus features in their own right. Overall, these combine to give a much richer gameplay experience than a standard side game bonus feature.
